A Message for Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month and Developmental Disability Awareness Month
Hello, I am Joe Pancari, President and CEO of Constructive Partnerships Unlimited. This National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month, I share a message for today and a promise for our future.
CP Unlimited began with parents of children with cerebral palsy who channeled their passions into a movement that elevated awareness of Cerebral Palsy, and shaped advocacy and treatment for decades to come. In fact, before we became ‘CP Unlimited’ in 2019, we were known as Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State.
No matter our name, our mission has always been about helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve fulfilling lives- and people with cerebral palsy have always been a significant portion of our community we are honored to support.
All of our educational efforts, the new homes we build, innovative programs for Day Habilitation participants, vocational opportunities, therapies, and more are informed by our timely and timeless mission. This is more than a job for the people in the CP family; we do this work and draw strength from a spirit to serve with an overwhelming devotion to the people we support. That is why we have made a real and vital impact since 1946.
We also celebrate March as Developmental Disability Awareness Month with an opportunity to highlight our integrative efforts across New York City, Nassau County, and the Hudson Valley creating more inclusive and diverse communities where people with I/DD are a part of the fabric of their neighborhood. This is a future we will never stop working to achieve.

You can also share local events with your network- like our upcoming March Open Houses across New York at the end of the month, and wheelchair maintenance clinic on Staten Island on March 25.
