How We See It: New Images from The Progressive Visions Photo Club and West Farms Photo Works
A new exhibition is on display through August 31 at the Positive Exposure Gallery in Manhattan, featuring an array of recent photography from CP Unlimited’s two photo clubs for persons with disabilities.
How We See It: New Images from The Progressive Visions Photo Club and West Farms Photo Works premiered July 27 with a special opening event featuring photographers whose work is highlighted at the Gallery. CP also held a unique photo workshop on August 10 for persons with disabilities, illuminating the style and experience of street photography and photo editing.
The exhibition runs from July 27 – August 31, 2024.
About CP’s Photo Clubs:
These two innovative programs of CP Unlimited empower people with disabilities to learn, create, and channel their visions through the medium of photography. Participants enjoy photo outings to explore both their communities and the greater New York City area to discover new creative opportunities and practice their skills using digital, mirrorless cameras, and cameras with specialized shutters and mounting systems.
Though they began using single use disposable cameras, members now utilize the latest photography equipment, including photo-editing technology, to learn how to perfect each capture for an audience.
Previous exhibitions have included displays at Positive Exposure and additional galleries throughout New York City and Long Island. In February, three members had their work featured at The National Lighthouse Museum on Staten Island.
