Celebrating CP Employee Longevity 2024
CP Unlimited is an organization where people with passion and compassion create a career with meaning. To do so requires an abiding commitment to CP’s persons supported, families with adult children who are differently abled, colleagues and fellow team members, and New Yorkers across the state. Whether they found the organization through a job fair, a personal referral, an auspice change, an online posting, or even during a bout of personal inspiration, the unifying charge is one of sharing love with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and making the world a better place.
The Agency recently took time to recognize 149 members of the CP Family who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and are celebrating 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, or 40 years helping people with I/DD achieve fulfilling lives. They were honored at a special morning program and collectively, they represent more than 2,300 years of service.
Reflecting the diversity of the Agency, we counted many Direct Care staff amongst Drivers, Mechanics, IT staff, Training, Administrative, Nursing, Habilitation Aides, Finance, and Executives, all of whom contribute to our mission in special ways. Each individual is part of a system of change, building a culture of inspiration. They are as follows:

Quotes from the Program:
“You are helping people have a good life…in many instances, no matter what role you play, you are considered family. That is true of every person here today; during a snowstorm, during COVID, you are there. This is not a job for you, this is a vocation. Because of you we are a great Agency,” said Joseph M. Pancari, President & CEO. “This is a celebration of you.”
“I want to especially mention our Direct Support Professionals…many of them could not be here, and not because they did not want to celebrate with us. They may be on a second or even a third shift. It is tough being a Direct Support Professional and without them none of us exist. I have been here for six years and within that time you learn a lot working for CP. A lot of the things we learn about helping is not what we learn in training. We learn in the house and in the field. We know how to survive and thrive in this field. To be the best Agency is to see our employee longevity as not just an event but as a movement,” remarked Sebastian Chittilappilly, Chief of Programs.
“When I came to this country, CP Unlimited was my first job. I love this job and I love the people I take care of. You take care of them today how you want to be taken care of tomorrow. I love my job, my supervisors and managers…if you ask for help they are always there. We come together for the best of the [people we support],” said Kadiatu Belmoh, Direct Care Counselor who counts 35 years with CP.
“I met a gentleman who worked at [CP’s residential setting on] Medina street. He said he had been there for five years. I said ‘why?’ After 25 years, I know why!” said by Bayo Taiwo, Residential Coordinator celebrating 25 years at our Agency.
“I am proud to work here, I am proud of the work I get to do, I am proud of how much you guys allow me to give back and help people. I see it everywhere, there are so many beautiful people at the Agency. I have never had a bad thought about this Agency, and that is why I stay here!” said Paul Digiovanni, Associate Director of Rehabilitation Services with 20 years under his belt [and who has made a pretty big impact!].
“I went to the Jacob Javitz Center job fair and started in HR at CP Unlimited. It has been great, everyone is so friendly and it is like a family. Thank you,” said Norman Chaung, Payroll Supervisor honored for fifteen years of service.
“I have been so impressed wtih the efforts and expansion and the things the Agency has taken on. And it also worked well for me because there was a lot of job growth for me. I have made several changes and it has been a wonderful experience, it is a great place to work,” said Maureen Doherty, Executive Assistant Supervisor with fifteen years at CP Unlimited.
