Two Rallies for the Disability Community
A 7.8% Medicaid Rate increase
Convene a Worker Wage Commission
Invest in Capital Funding
The requested 7.8% Medicaid rate increase is vital to stabilize agency operations and counter rising costs of care, including staff wages, food, housing, insurance, utilities, and more. Adequate wages for direct support professionals are crucial to retaining and attracting skilled workers, who are the backbone of day-to-day support and care. Additionally, enhanced capital funding would allow agencies to make much-needed upgrades, enhancing efficiency and the overall quality of life for New Yorkers with disabilities while maintaining or reducing costs. These measures represent an investment in the whole system, and the creation of a more stable, respectful, and inclusive care system for over 130,000 people with disabilities across the state.
In 2025, the schedule continues to populate with important events to showcase the power of the field and raise awareness of our needs. CP Unlimited will be at both the February 25, 2025 New York Disability Advocate rally in Albany and the March 7, 2025 Rally in the Vally and we invite you to join us on the CPU bus fleet!
