NYS Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton Visits Cora Hoffman Center on April 28
The Cora Hoffman Center day habilitation team, alongside CP leadership, welcomed New York State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton to CP’s Staten Island Day Hab program to tour the setting at 2324 Forest Avenue and meet people we support and members of the CP staff.
Senator Spanton was fortunate to meet persons supported taking part in our M.O.V.E. (Mobility Opportunities Via Education/Experience) program, vocational program participants at our SmileFarms greenhouses, as well as the many, musical Day Hab attendees who enjoyed singing their favorite songs as a lyrical backdrop to her tour.
In addition, Senator Spanton was able to tour the Metro Community Health Center to learn about the necessary role the clinic plays in the health and wellbeing of the area community. Truly, Senator Spanton got to experience a vivid snapshot of the impact we have in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
