Employee Longevity Events: Recognizing the Dedication of the CP Family
The CP Family includes many of the most caring and special in the field and this is indisputable to anyone who has spent time in our community.
From the front lines with the people we support as Direct Care Coordinators, Drivers, and Cooks, to CP’s residential teams that create the warm, loving homes for people with I/DD, to our Day Hab teams educating, entertaining, and engaging people with I/DD throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley, to our Article 16 therapists getting people mobile, to our groups working in Finance, HR, Administration, and others, we are as diverse in title as we are in the paths that brought us together under the banner of a group of concerned parents, to UCP of NYS, and now Constructive Partnerships Unlimited.
And, as an organization with an average employee tenure of eleven years (wow!), there are so many who have advanced our mission for decades beyond that. If it were a regular year, we would recognize those with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 year anniversaries at a special gathering, but recent events required that these plans be put on hold. Reconstituting these acknowledgement programs was of the utmost importance and we are proud to recap our 2023 events below.
The Agency put on three distinct programs to recognize the commitment of our on-year celebrants and in-between honorees whose ceremonies were unfortunately missed. This population of over 400 of the CP Family truly deserve our admiration and gratitude.

August 22: Breakfast at Giardino D’Oro, for CP Family members marking 10-19 years
Welcoming close to 60 of our CP Family, we enjoyed a fun series of presentations honoring employees who marked 2023 as their tenth and fifteenth years with the Agency. In addition, we honored those with 11-14 and 16-19 years to note the in-between years when we were unable to hold these programs.

August 23: Lunch at the 3 West Club, for CP Family members marking 20-29 years
Nearly 90 people from across the CP Unlimited network were treated to soaring views over Rockefeller Center as we recognized their heights of achievement with our organization. This was a special opportunity to fill the Grand Ballroom with joy as we delivered our appreciation, and certificates, to CP Family members marking 20 and 25 year anniversaries, alongside those celebrating 21-24 and 26-29 wonderful years with us.

August 24: Dinner at the 3 west Club for CP Family members marking 30-40+ years
When you surpass three and four decades with an organization, there is much to celebrate and recognize. At this dinner event, we shined the CP spotlight on 30 of these diligent employees who, alongside their guests, gathered to share stories on careers of distinction and growth. Attendees enjoyed a more intimate experience as each honoree was able to highlight their unique paths to CP Unlimited and the meaning and purpose each derive from their consistent efforts.
For this cohort, the indebtedness of the entire CP team and the people we support only begins to acknowledge how much they have accomplished as world-changers and, certainly, the most committed among our loyal group.

The dinner was also defined by the absence of one of our own: Timothy Buyund, who would have celebrated 41 years with us.
Please join us for a dedication ceremony planned for September 28 at West Farms Center in The Bronx where we will name our Grab N Go Café in honor of his career.
