Crisp Air and Clean Chairs in Brooklyn
Underneath a blue sky and with a slight edge to the breeze, CP Unlimited’s Rehabilitation Technicians helped clean, repair, and sanitize nearly twenty wheelchairs at the Agency’s latest Wheelchair Clinic, this one held in Brooklyn at CP’s Carmen Aquilone Day Program.
Held in partnership with The Jewish Board of Brooklyn, and with chairs arriving from fellow I/DD providers as well, the CP team worked to replace parts and power wash / polish up many models of push chairs to help their users deepen their independence and mobility.
Hear from one of the attendees, Jeffrey M., who not only received a sparkling chair back from CP but recognized how the program has become a beacon of hope for people with disabilities across New York City and the Hudson Valley:
“My front casters were down to the rims and I got new casters and…they put them on. They cleaned my chair which hasn’t been cleaned in like 15 years and I thank G-d for this company. It is a godsend, I didn’t know what I was going to do…about this chair that I am in. [The program] helps all people who are in need of fixing their chairs and it keeps us moving as people with disabilities. This keeps us on equal footing…and it is a wonderful thing!” -Jeffrey M.
