CP Receives 2023 Innovation Award Grant from NYSADSP
CP Unlimited has always stretched the imagination of what it means to create opportunities for people with I/DD to achieve fulfilling lives, and part of that vision includes bringing on partners that also strengthen physical fitness in addition to building emotional and mental fortitude.
Thanks to a $1,000 grant from the New York State Agency of Day Service Providers, the people we support will get stronger thanks to new pads that CP Unlimited can purchase to facilitate participation in Kindful Movement classes at CP Day Habilitation settings.
Through the Kindful Movement Adaptive Yoga Program, participants are encouraged to take on practices that can not only improve their health and confidence but offer an even more profound opportunity for growth and community integration for its participants. Through yoga, participants with differing degrees of paralysis can embrace a fundamental lifestyle change that can alter their self-perception and their position in the community.
