A Day of Double Donations on Staten Island
CP Unlimited has made great strides expanding our mission and growing our presence on Staten Island in recent months and the results are paying off in many ways!
On September 19, CP representatives attended two important events where the Agency mission and impact were highlighted and rewarded with donations that help the people we support in the borough achieve fulfilling lives.
In the morning, the organization was gifted a $1,000 check at a program for local leaders put on by prominent area developer The Nicotra Group. The gift is to “improve the quality of life for marginalized populations and help embrace the social responsibility pillars of doing good in the communities we live in,” wrote Kristine Garlisi, Executive Director of The Lois and Richard Nicotra Foundation, in the acknowledgement letter. CP Unlimited will invest in an ongoing series of yoga and stretching classes for our Day Habilitation participants from a dedicated Staten Island yogi with the goal of getting the people we support to strengthen their bodies like never before.
Later that evening, CP Unlimited was among a cadre of organizations recognized by the Verrazano Kiwanis Club, an area chapter of the global community service organization. CP Family were on hand to pick up a check for $7,700 from the June 25 Cars Care Show, featuring hundreds of classic, vintage, and exotic autos.
Their generous support will allow CP Unlimited to stretch more than just muscles as we bring on a new piece of specialized equipment our M.O.V.E. program at The Cora Hoffman Center.
The recognition of the work of CP Unlimited is always rewarding and we look forward to applying these contributions to help the people we support reach new heights.
