Our E-Badge Journey Starts with Big Steps
Recently, CP Unlimited and Adapt Community Network–acting in partnership– were selected as one of seventeen New York-based provider organizations participating in a 3-year credentialing pilot program organized by the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). Grants were established through an agreement with OPWDD and NADSP to cover the associated costs for credentialing. CP Unlimited and Adapt Community Network each were awarded 25 seats for NADSP E-Badge Academy in order to strengthen internal skills and elevate the standard of care to people with I/DD.
The Training Department is pleased to report that 10 of our Direct Support Professionals and five of our Front Line Supervisors have already started their journey towards earning E-Badges leading to credentialing. CP’s DSPs have 50 hours of accredited training to complete that will make them eligible for earning E-Badges on the NADSP E-Badge Academy. Our Front Line Supervisors will soon begin their education, having previously met the accredited training requirement for the pilot program.
Congratulations to the following DSPs for having completed their first 10 hours of training, making them eligible for a 10-hour E-Badge when they transition to the NADSP E-Badge Academy:

Laura Herdman, Hudson Valley Division
Rachael Phillip, Brooklyn Residential
Suzette Stevens, Manhattan Residential
We also recognize Sandra Thorney, Residential Coordinator of Hudson Valley for earning five E-Badges as a Front Line Supervisor!
