Adult Education Graduation: Celebrating Achievement and Learning
CP Unlimited celebrated nearly forty students as they marked their graduation from our 2023 Adult Education Series of classes on February 1. All courses are developed based on the student’s interests. This year’s courses included Cooking, Patrick Emproto Book Club, Reading, Writing, American Sign Language, Money Management, and many more.
Their shared success is testament to their determination, dedication, and desire for personal development. Each graduate has used their education as a stepping-stone for individual growth. One graduate remarked that last year she vowed to be living independently by this time in 2024, and she has indeed accomplished that goal! As Marta Colon said in her speech “Melissa [D’Accordo, Curriculum and Training Specialist] shows us how hard we can work and what we can do.” In addition to Melissa’s dynamic and warm teachings, the Agency also spotlights the work of Virginia Zelhof, Director of Training, who is always lending support to ensure that each student accomplishes their dreams.

This year’s ceremony was dedicated to Sandra Gomez and Carol Sampson-Bradford, two outstanding Direct Support Professionals who go above and beyond to ensure that the students that they are supporting meet with success while attending the Adult Education Series classes.
Said Melissa to the group: “The bar is set high, but when given the proper tools each person is able to meet with success and that’s exactly what the 2023 graduates did.“
