Welcoming CM Nantasha Williams to CP’s Jamaica Home
CP’s residential setting in Jamaica Queens at 163-55 111th street is a purpose-built home for seven women with disabilities. Beyond the barrier-free design, it is a space where art is made in a big living room, meals lovingly prepared in a state-of-the-art kitchen, movement made easy via Hoya lifts and adjustable chairs and beds, and medications dispensed from an organized and customized nurse’s station.
The staff and several residents were excited to welcome Council Member Nantasha Williams (D-27) on February 14 who spent time touring home and learning more about CP programs and services in Queens and across New York City. The Valentine’s Day tour was made even more lovely by the heart-heavy decor, bright red clothing, and- most of all- the warmth in the room.
The CP team was happy to make a new friend and look forward to taking advantage of upcoming events and being of service to additional people across this shared community.
