Dedicating Special Spaces at MCHC and West Farms: Honoring Duane Schielke and John Horvath
CP Unlimited is fortunate to have many people who have left an indelible mark on the field among its family and history. Two such individuals, Duane Schielke and John Horvath, were honored at a special dedication ceremony on June 9 as CP Unlimited and Metro Community Health Centers named the MCHC clinic at 979 Cross Bronx Expressway for Mr. Schielke and the rooftop garden space at the same building— part of CP Unlimited’s West Farms Day Hab program— for Mr. Horvath.
CP Unlimited and Metro Community Health Center dedicated the community clinic space to the legacy of Mr. Duane R. Schielke in recognition of his compassionate work on behalf of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Duane devoted his entire professional life to encouraging individuals with disabilities to live the most fulfilled and productive lives possible, promoting good healthcare as an essential component of their success. His tireless efforts and advocacy serve as an inspiration for all to follow.
The rooftop garden was dedicated to CP Unlimited Board Member Mr. John Horvath in recognition of his ongoing support and dedication to our mission, and that of CP of New York State.
