CP Draws Applause at the Rally in the Valley
CP Unlimited’s Hudson Valley Division added their calls for investment in Direct Support Professionals across the state at the Rally in the Valley on March 8. In addition to sharing our voice, CP Unlimited served as a sponsor for the program alongside Access: Supports For Living, The Arc New York, Venture Together, Abilities First, Inc., and Community Based Services.
Organized by CP’s friends at Jawonio, the event focused on the ongoing imperative to pass a 3.2 percent Cost-of-Living-Allowance and a $4,000 wage enhancement for DSPs. Over 1,200 advocates and allies attended, which sent a clear message to Governor Hochul and continued the momentum from the previous rally in Albany.
In a special moment, those in attendance heard from Eileen Dellot, one of CP Unlimited’s persons supported, who added her personal story and encouraged more widespread awareness of the needs of our DSPs.
