Assemblymember Dana Levenberg Visits CP’s Garrison Residence
We thank Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg (NY District 95) for visiting our residence in Garrison, New York and meeting the persons supported with intellectual and developmental disabilities who call it home, alongside the dedicated staff who care for these very special people.
While there, she saw the gorgeous bedrooms customized with artwork, decorations, and colors chosen by each resident, the specialized bathing and bathroom facilities, and the warm and welcome living room where they gather for games, movies, and more! The home is a place of support for nine people from throughout the Hudson Valley.
Assemblywoman Levenberg came during dinner, and also got to see the dedicated team helping to make it a nourishing experience both in the specially-prepared foods, prepared and pureed with love, and through the music and singing that accompanies each meal.
Perhaps most significantly, she also heard about the needs of our team in the Hudson Valley. Their efforts to create opportunities for people with I/DD to achieve a fulfilling life is not without challenges and being able to articulate how we can be partners in change is always a beneficial endeavor.
The entire team in Hudson Valley thanks Assemblywoman Levenberg for her time, engaging questions, and warmth towards everyone on the CP team. We look forward to a continued and fruitful relationship.
