CP Brings Over 140 Advocates to Albany
The CP team spent a day in Albany, New York at the Capitol Building to rally with the New York Disability Advocates (NYDA) group and other providers to demand a 7.8% Medicaid rate increase, adequate wages for human service workers, and enhanced capital funding to ensure quality care.
Over 140 members of the CP Family were able to attend to demand more from Albany and our legislators, alongside many dozens of additional advocates. As always, our Agency brought the greatest number of individuals to the rally, signifying the commitment across the organization to these important issues.

In addition to the main rally in the War Room on the second floor, CP self-advocates also met with staff of elected officials to impress upon them the need for more support across the disability provider industry and to raise concerns from the field. Those politicians include:
Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins
NYS Senator Peter Harckham
NYS Assemblymember Didi Barrett
NYS Assemblymember Dana Levenberg
NYS Senator Rob Rolison
