CP Unlimited at the CP State Conference
CP Unlimited made a splash at the recent CP State Conference on October 11-12 in a variety of ways benefitting both the field and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live in and around Saratoga Springs, NY.
On October 11, the first day of the conference, CP Unlimited hosted a wheelchair clinic for the local population and we were proud to help a handful of people from Upstate New York who use wheelchairs get their chairs cleaner, sanitized, and inspected for safety! Our Rehabilitation Team representatives, Diankah Eligon and Paul DiGiovanni, were on hand to offer a cheery and professional experience for all takers!
The Agency also tabled to offer information and tasty samples of the hot sauce created in partnership with Smile Farms, and made from peppers grown and harvested at the greenhouses at CP’s Day Habilitation program on Staten Island.
The CP Family also celebrated the recognition of several of our team honoring their great impact and innovative work. Most significantly, Paul DiGiovanni, Associate Director of Rehabilitation, was awarded the Joseph Dutkowsky, MD Clinician of the Year Award for his innovative wheelchair clinic maintenance and cleaning program that has helped more than 600 people who use wheelchairs gain greater independence and mobility with enhanced safety and comfort, and now expanded to all five boroughs and the Hudson Valley.

Additional CP team members received Staff Recognition Certificates marking their efforts going above and beyond for the people we support, including: Arlene Perricone-Saumell, Jennifer Tetor, Karon Lalite, Kristina Sellers, Lawrence Johnson, Mary Grace Whitehead, Raquel Mays-Judge, and Yonette Dey.
We will continue to take an active role to share resources and expertise that can help people with I/DD achieve fulfilling lives and fellow providers to expand their programmatic and collaborative horizons.
