OPWDD Subsidy / ISS Services
CP Unlimited’s Independent Living Support Service (ISS) helps people with developmental and intellectual disabilities maintain the highest level of independence and involvement in their community.

To qualify, a person must be enrolled in Office For People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) program to be eligible for the subsidy. Within this program, persons have the choice of living alone, with roommates, or to continue to live in their current non-certified setting.
For individuals who have never lived on their own, it is recommended that additional supports such as Community Habilitation Service be provided. All persons supported in this program access services provided by a Community Habilitation Specialist, who work jointly on goals with the aim to transition individuals to independent living.
In 2023, the organization supported 75 people in 80 ISS housing settings across New York City.
